This acquisition allowed them to reach a much larger audience and offer new experiences for users. The last stable version of Winamp (by Nullsoft/AOL) was released on December 12, 2013 and was marked as 5.6.6.3516. This is the best and most refined version that has been created. Winamp's official distribution includes my language pack, which has the status of an official Polish language pack.

It should be noted that as a result of the change of Winamp ownership, some components have stopped working and some have been malfunctioning. These problems have been solved by issuing patched installers, which you can download below.

So you can download official (patched) Winamp Full and Lite (lightweight mp3 / CD player) installers in English (en-US) and the multilingual Winamp Full installer (with a built-in Polish language pack). You can also download the official (unpatched) Winamp Full and Lite installers in Polish version (pl-PL). These installers are unfortunately not patched and therefore it is also recommended to download and install the security patches of the gen_jumpex and in_mp3 plugins.

POLISH LANGUAGE PACK FOR WINAMP 5.6.6.3516

Polish language pack is the official Polish translation of Winamp, which I have prepared in consultation with Nullsoft, Inc. (AOL). Winamp language pack is the translation of the entire Winamp interface, which includes the translation of all plugins and skins distributed with Winamp. This language pack is an extended version of the official Polish language pack, which also contains a translation of other plugins that extend Winamp's functionality, which I found to be remarkable. It also includes Polish version of Winamp Classic Skin and a special plug-in that provides access to unofficial Winamp help web page in Polish language.

WACUP (WinAmp Community Update Project)

WACUP (WinAmp Community Update Project) is an independent project with the aim to provide new features and bug fixes for the mighty Winamp player from those who care about keeping Winamp alive and whippin' with the goal to eventually become its own highly Winamp compatible media player.

WACUP consists of new plug-ins to add additional features to the last AOL provided Winamp release (5.666 Build 3516) as well as making use of the benefits of Winamp being heavily based on a plug-in system to allow replacements to be created which provide better implementations over the plug-ins natively included with Winamp. By including and updating other 3rd party skins and plug-ins for Winamp, WACUP should be able to provide something for most users who care about Winamp and want to keep using it for the years to come.

WACUP project is being actively developed. However, it is still beta software. If you want, you can help create and develop WACUP by becoming a beta tester. You can also support the project financially or in any other way (tests, promotion, etc.).

You can now download the preview version that shows the current progress of the project. It is published publicly at monthly intervals.

Winamp 5.8.0.3660 (Beta)

The latest public version of Winamp was released on October 19, 2018. This is the development version (BETA)! The goal is to create a completely free edition, which requires removal or replacement of the licensed code. It is recommended to use the 'custom' install option instead of 'standard'. Custom install lets you choose components, like before, whereas standard defaults to 'all' on clean installs, or 'previous' on upgrades.

Notes: Some features are works-in-progress, e.g. new in_mod and out_wasapi plugins. Sorry, no CD burning, autotag or cddb features yet. No multinational version with lang packs yet either (however you can still use langpacks).

I believe that almost everybody using a PC knows anything about Winamp. Well, just for the record, Winamp has a lot of cool features which make it an extremely valuable and versatile media player.
Among it's countless features I liked the following: you can synchronize your Media Library with your portable media player: compatible with iPod, Creative, and Microsoft Plays For Sure devices. It contains coding Technologies aacPlus High Bitrate encoder available in Winamp Pro, Coding Technologies aacPlus (HE-AAC) in MP4 container Coding Technologies LC-AAC encoder.
A feature which I personally liked is the Predixis Smart Playlist Generator to list your songs according to the way they sound. The program has lots of customizable components: Winamp Agent, Library, modern Skin Support, User Interface extensions, Audio file support, video file support, visualizations, extra audio output/effect support. You can associate it with audio, video, audio CDs, playlist files.
Automatic download and install codecs and libraries also available.
Other cool features include: Dynamic AJAX Internet Media Hub, gapless MP3 playback, multi-user profile options, remembers your previous installer settings, right-to-left playlist display. You can install the toolbar and control Winamp from your browser and have access to Shoutcast radio. With eMusic you can get one free audiobook and 50 free MP3's during the trial period.
Since it's an extremely friendly media player, Winamp give you the freedom of choosing one of of the thousands of skins available for download; it also incorporates a powerful graphic equalizer which includes lots and lots of predefined presets or gives you the possibility to save your own.
Pluses: Winamp is free, easy to use and features integrated SHOUTcast Radio & TV.
Drawbacks / flaws: If you want to Rip to HE-AAC at >128k bitrate, burn CDs Faster - Up to 48x or rip/encode Music into aacPlus, AAC, MP3, and WMA you need to buy Winamp.
In conclusion: Download, install and enjoy listening to music or viewing your favorite movies.
